How to Lose Hormonal Weight Gain – Kitty’s Story
I had tried many diets over the last 20 years but just kept packing on the pounds. I would lose then gain more back. In addition, my cholesterol was high and for health reasons I needed to lower it. I saw my doctor ay Georgia Hormones and told her that I could not seem to lose weight and that I was so frustrated. Being a menopausal woman with Hashimoto’s Disease made it even more difficult to lose weight. Donna, my PA, suggested that I call Mary since she witnessed other patients that had great success with her plans.
So, I met with Mary on June 15, 2016. I signed up for BodyDesigns Two-Week Detox Plan and her Lifestyles Diet Plan which gave me a personalized diet plan and 2 months of diet monitoring. The detox diet was difficult but with Mary’s guidance and the support of my family, I stuck with it. The first grocery shopping trip took over an hour because I was buying new foods. After the 2 weeks I lost 8 lbs!!! When I tried to re-introduce gluten into my diet, I realized that I had an intolerance to gluten. I would swell up and get a headache if I ate gluten. I was able to tolerate adding dairy back into my diet but in small amounts. During monitoring, Mary taught me how to balance my protein, carbohydrates and fat at each meal so I would be satisfied yet be able to lose weight. Some days I did great, others were just maintenance days and some were all out cheat meals. Mary would give me guidance and point out where I could improve. She made me really want to try harder. I was able to continue with my busy work schedule, still travel and have a social life. After 2 months of monitoring I decided I still needed Mary’s guidance so I added an additional month of monitoring. While changing my eating patterns, I continued with walking 3-4 days a week and working with my personal trainer for 2 days.
As of today, I have lost a total of 18 pounds and am on the road to lose 9 more pounds. I feel more energetic and much less bloated. I have gone from a size 14 dress to a size 10 and from a size 10 pant to a 6 or 8. I just feel more like myself. My total cholesterol dropped by 33 points and my triglycerides dropped 60 points.
