Losing Weight with a Partner For Success
At the end of July, Hernan and Julia first came to see me about losing weight and getting into shape. As a young couple, both working to further their careers, they had spent the last few years ignoring their diet and exercise.
Both had gained over 20 lbs. and they were ready to make fitness and health a priority.
They decided the best program for them was BodyDesigns Lifestyle Weight Management System. With this program they would each receive a personalized Lifestyle Diet Plan along with a combination of one on one and online personal training sessions.
Neither Hernan nor Julia were getting any type of regular exercise although Hernan had joined a soccer league and was starting to play once a week. Both of them ate lunch and dinner’s out and Julia was drinking alcohol about three times a week while Hernan was enjoying sweets almost nightly.
For exercise, Hernan began playing two soccer games each week, biking on the weekends, cardio 2 mornings a week at the gym and weights with me and on his own for a total of 3 sessions a week. Julia also did the weekend bike rides, cardio twice a week and weights 3 times a week.
Hernan and Julia started their dietary transition by doing BodyDesigns Two-Week Detox Plan. They stuck to it perfectly and logged their food in Lose It each day. Hernan lost 9 lbs. and Julia lost 6 lbs., which was a nice kick start for their weight loss. They went directly onto their Lifestyle Meal Plan and followed it consistently, cooking food, trying new things and reaching out for advice when needed.
In summary, Julia began with me at 147 lbs., wearing a size 8. Today she is 130 lbs. wearing a size 4 (but soon to be a size 2). Her body fat has decreased by 7%! She looks and feels amazing. She has had several trips out of town during our 2 months together but she has always managed to maintain her weight. Julia began training for her first 5 K and completed it this fall. She has truly changed her lifestyle.
Hernan started with me at 182 lbs. and is down to 165. He went from a size 36 to a size 32 and his body fat has decreased by 5%. He is able to play back to back soccer games each week (another team has recruited him) and feels great. Hernan is beginning to train for his first triathlon this spring. Hernan also had several trips out of town and despite some stressful times, he has learned how to make the best choices in tough situations. He also has truly changed his lifestyle.
