Discover The Roadblocks to Weight Loss
Heather came to me with a desire to lose weight and really keep it off this time. She had a history of losing weight only to return to old eating habits and gain it back again. She loved to be active but wasn’t finding the time to work out with two small children and a full time job.
Although Heather was trying to eat the “right” foods, her diet still included processed bars, lunches out, wine with dinner several nights per week and snacking after dinner. The great thing was that she loved all the right foods and just needed some guidance in how to make some simple but significant changes in her diet.
Heather started with me with a goal to lose 24 lbs., get her gut healthy and get in shape. Her body fat was 31.7% and we set a goal to get it down to 22-24%.
Heather began her plan with weekly workouts and BodyDesigns Two-Week Detox Plan followed by a Lifestyle Diet Plan. Since Heather liked her wine at night we worked it in as an option for her to have one but limit the number of ounces and times per week. She loved substituting the Kombucha for the wine and didn’t miss it. She agreed to begin preparing foods in advance so she wasn’t stuck having to grab lunch out or quick processed bars as snacks. She made the commitment to make this a lifestyle change and NOT just a diet.
In the first two weeks of following the Detox Plan she lost 10 lbs. right away. The weight loss was huge but how she felt was even better. Heather reported feeling energetic and no longer having gut issues. When we challenged dairy and gluten she found that she would rather keep them both out of her diet as she felt much better without them.
Heather continued to lose weight over the next few months and came within a few pounds of her goal on several occasions. During that time she had some setbacks where she would maintain or gain a few pounds but this past January she finally decided that her lifestyle needed to be more consistent to reach her final goal. I’m happy to say that she has met her goal and looks amazing! Today Heather has a body fat of 22.4%, which is the low end of her original goal. When we measured her we were both shocked to see that she had lost a total of 17 ½ inches with 7 ½ of them being directly off her waist. Every time I see Heather she looks more and more trim and fit. I’m so proud of her hard work and accomplishments.
When I asked her what made a difference this time she told me:
1. Starting off the BodyDesigns Two-Week Detox Plan was key to really motivate me. I felt great and saw such a change in just two weeks that I didn’t want to go back to my old eating habits. 4. This year my final changes that really put me at my goal weight were that I realized it was ok to say no to sweets and breads when offered by friends. I decided to stay true to myself and don’t worry about what others think. In addition, I’ve discovered that I can make myself a nice cocktail with a little lime or lemon juice, a little vodka and stevia and one is perfect!
