Client Spotlight on Gloria – How to Lose the Weight After 60
Gloria came to me in January of this year with a goal to lose 20 lbs. for her daughter’s wedding. In our consult I discovered that she had also been struggling with sleep and gut issues and wanted to prevent osteopenia from getting any worse by increasing her muscle mass.
During our Deep Dive consultation, I discovered that she was doing some videos for weight training but outside of the 3 short sessions, she was mostly sedentary at a desk most of the day. Her diet needed work as far as her meal timing where she was eating too late at night as well as a very high carb/sugar diet. Starting her day with cereal, including chocolate candy and eating out 2-3 times a week made it difficult to see any weight loss results.
She started with me mid-January doing BodyDesigns Two Week Detox Plan and losing almost 7 lbs. right off the bat. Her gut felt better and she was no longer having issues with sleep. She also intensified her weight lifting program to include heavier weights and added walking for cardio.
After the Detox she went into her personal Lifestyle Plan, where I gave her macronutrient goals along with meal ideas and meal timing suggestions. She began walking as much as she could
throughout the day and logging her food daily. She was really good with meeting her macronutrient goals as well as her meal timing but did struggle to meet the step goal on some days.
When the wedding came around in May she had not only lost her 20 lbs. but exceeded her goal to lose and extra 10 lbs. When I asked her what made her successful she told me:
1. Being accountable to what I was eating each day was the key. I wasn’t always meeting my goals for fitness but I was very consistent with food prep, meeting my macro goals and being accountable even when I had a cheat meal.
2. Making walking a priority on the 4 days that I didn’t work.
3. Remembering each day why I was doing this.
4. Reading ingredients on labels and knowing what ingredients are not good for my health.
Gloria was able to attend her daughter’s wedding and feel and look amazing but better still she has learned how to eat to not just maintain a healthy weight but to meet her wellness and longevity goals for years to come. Congratulations Gloria and I wish you the best of health always.
