Client Spotlight: Stacy—37 Pounds Down, Stronger at 57, and Stepping Into First Place!

When Stacy first came to me in March at age 56, she wanted to learn how to eat well, improve her health, and lose weight for good. She had slightly elevated cholesterol and some digestive issues, and shortly after we started working together, she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. She knew she wanted to feel better—and she was ready to make changes.

During our initial consultation, we took a close look at her eating habits, activity, and daily routine. Most of her meals came from processed foods or fast food, and outside of a few hikes each month, she wasn’t moving much. We talked about how movement, meal timing, macronutrients, and food quality could support her goals. Just as importantly, we discussed the why behind each change so she could build habits she understood and could maintain.

Stacy jumped right in with my Two Week Detox Plan, replacing convenience foods with more nourishing meals. She lost 11 pounds during those first two weeks, began walking daily, and started attending exercise classes at the gym. She also became more involved in her hiking group and added more hikes to her calendar. Her commitment was clear from the start!

Next, we transitioned to a personalized Lifestyle Plan with macro goals and practical meal ideas. Stacy faithfully logged her food, learned to read labels, and found meals she enjoyed that supported her goals. Over the following months, her weight continued to come down, her digestive issues resolved, and her cholesterol improved. Movement became a regular part of her life, and she became one of the most active women I know.

Recently, Stacy took that commitment to another level: she entered a step challenge alongside women in their 20s—and she was determined to win! Some days, she logged as many as 40,000 steps. While that was an extraordinary challenge effort, her everyday consistency is what has made the lasting difference. This woman who once averaged just 4,000–5,000 steps a day finished in first place!

Now 57, Stacy is 37 pounds down, stronger, and enjoying better fitness. When I asked what helped her succeed, she highlighted three things:

1. Understanding the Why. Learning how food and movement affect her health helped Stacy make informed choices and understand the purpose behind her new habits.

2. Having a Personalized Plan. Clear macro goals and meal ideas gave her a starting point. As her confidence grew, she learned to read labels and find additional foods that fit her plan.Consistent support and accountability.

3.  Regular Accountability.  Daily food-log reviews and regular Zoom calls gave us opportunities to celebrate progress, work through challenges, and adjust her plan along the way.

I am so proud of Stacy—for the weight she has lost, the strength she has built, and the commitment she continues to show herself. From preparing meals to showing up at the gym and stepping into first place, she has built a healthier, more active life one choice at a time. I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next!
