Caramel Apple Protein Shake
One of my favorite treats of all time is caramel. The combination of a caramel melted over an apple combines tart with sweet to make a really special treat. Unfortunately, these delicious snacks are loaded with sugar which isn’t good for our health or our waistline.
I recently came across and all natural Caramel Extract with an amazing flavor and just a touch of sugar. This extract is wonderful to use in shakes or other recipes to perfectly mimic that sweet caramel flavor which reminds me so much of fall.
The recipe I am sharing today is a Caramel Apple Protein Shake and it’s a new option for people doing my Two Week Detox Plan. This is a great way to start your day and mix up the flavor of your morning shake. Give it a try – you are going to LOVE it!
Caramel Apple Protein Shake
1 scoop Vanilla SunWarrior Protein powder
12 ounces unsweetened almond, cashew or coconut milk
1 T chia seeds
1/2 apple, seeded
1 tsp. caramel extract
1. Place chia seeds and milk into blender and allow it to sit for 15 minutes.
2. Add 1/2 apple and 1 tsp. caramel and blend on high until mixed.
