How to Lose Weight With Your Spouse
Well I have ANOTHER husband and wife in the spotlight! I think there is something to be said for “doing life together”. It’s really great to see couples motivating and supporting each other in such a positive way and Casey and Rob are a perfect example!Rob and Casey began Personal Training and signed up for my Lifestyle Diet Plan 8 weeks ago. At that time they had very specific goals: To lose body fat, gain muscle and get healthy! Rob and Casey are a bit unique in that they have both been in great shape in the past and over a few years during which they focused on their young daughter and their business, they failed to take care of themselves and found themselves overweight and out of shape.
These guys are truly “star students” or teacher’s pets (sorry Tim & Holly). They asked me what to do and immediately set out to strictly follow my advice on diet & exercise. Through a vacation, a death in the family and many days traveling for business, Casey and Rob NEVER once deviated from the program. That’s simply amazing in itself! But what’s truly amazing is the fantastic changes in their bodies and the way they feel.
In just 60 days, Rob lost 30 lbs of body fat and gained 10 lbs of muscle, dropping from 200 lbs on April 22nd to 180 lbs on June 21st. His body fat dropped from 17.1% to 10.1%, a decrease of 41.5%. He has lost 3.5 inches in his waist and is very close to reaching his first set of fitness goals.
During the same period, Casey has lost 21 lbs of body fat and gained at least 5 lbs of muscle. She has dropped 6% in her total body fat, a overall decrease of more than 19%! Casey is more then halfway to reaching her initial fitness goals and hopes to reach them all with another few weeks of hard work. Casey has dropped two full sizes and now has a legitimate excuse for buying an entirely new wardrobe!
When I asked Casey and Rob what they thought were the most important factors in their success they told me:
1. Making this lifestyle change together and supporting each other.
2. Making the “appointment” to exercise whether it be with me or on their own.
3. Planning for meals and snacks; eating 6 times per day and not letting everyday “life” get in the way of their goals.
Casey and Rob are perfect examples of 2 people that decided they wanted to make a change in their lifestyle; developed a plan on how to accomplish this change and put it as a priority in life. After all, we can work hard and have great jobs but if we don’t have our health then in the end we don’t have anything at all.
I’m really proud to have the opportunity to work with Rob and Casey. I love my job and my job satisfaction comes in knowing that I have been able to help someone really change their life to better their health and decrease their likelihood of illness and premature death.
Congratulations Rob and Casey on a job well done! I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of this transformation unfold over the next few weeks.
